For decades Simpson Strong-Tie has been a synonym for the metal connectors used in load-bearing wood structures. The highly successful U.S. and European companies bearing the same name still provide the majority of sales volume to Simpson Manufacturing Co., Inc. In 1995, Simpson Strong-Tie acquired a manufacturer of chemical anchors and began its entry into the North American heavy-duty anchoring market through its "Anchor Systems" business unit. Today, Anchor Systems' product range has grown to also include metal anchors, drill bits and powder actuated tools and fasteners.

In 2008, Simpson Strong-Tie acquired the operating assets of the German-based Liebig companies, including the Liebig production facility in Killorglin, Ireland. Now, through Liebig products, Simpson adds a long European tradition of heavy fastening and anchoring systems to its offering. Both brands stand for reliable products that are designed to make safe and economical construction possible.
